Bassitt Fans 8 Against Former Team Schneider Drives In 2 As Blue Jays Beat Mets 6 2

Mets Fall to Blue Jays

Bassitt's Strong Outing Not Enough

### Blue Jays Beat Mets 6-2

Chris Bassitt pitched well against his former team, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Jays beat the Mets 6-2 on Sunday.

Bassitt allowed two runs on five hits in six innings, but the Mets' offense couldn't keep up.

Santiago Espinal hit a two-run homer in the first inning, and Bo Bichette added a solo shot in the second.

The Blue Jays added two more runs in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and an RBI single by Teoscar Hernandez.

The Mets got on the board in the fifth on a groundout by Mark Canha, but they couldn't get any closer.

Edwin Diaz pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his 16th save of the season.
